Chelsea close in on Sevilla striker
Chelsea have moved a step closer to signing Sevilla striker Alvaro Negredo after reports in Spain claimed he has been offered the chance to play for the west London club.

Negredo has been strongly linked with a move to Stamford Bridge following his impressive displays in La Liga.

Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool have also been monitoring his progress, but it now seems that Chelsea are in pole position to clinch his signature.

Spanish newspaper Marca is claiming that a group of agents acting for Negredo have offered Chelsea the opportunity to begin negotiations with the Spanish international.

Negredo is refusing to comment on the speculation, but it looks certain that he will make a big money move at the end of the season.

On 23 January 2012, Shakhtar Donetsk confirmed that Chelsea had submitted a bid for Willian. On 7th February, Santos President claimed that Willian was heading to Chelsea in the summer of 2012 after he ruled Santos out of the race in signing him. He said, "We gave up because of a proposal that they [Shakhtar] received from Chelsea. It was an offer of tens of millions of euros. It seems that he will go there in the middle of the year." Willian will link up with several other brazilians with the likes of David Luiz, Ramires and Lucas Piazon playing at Chelsea.
