Tudi Moses ga je in to pomeni, da bomo brez teh dveh januarja.

Chelsea midfield general closing in on 5-year contract. #CFC
John Obi Mikel's agent has today stated that his client has been offered a 5-year contract extension that'll see him remain at Chelsea until 2018, where he'll be 29 years of age.

Mikel has been at the club for 8 years now and is yet to score for us in the Premier League - but that doesn't matter, that's not what his game is about.

He has been the victim of a lot of criticism in the past, but it hasn't all been justified - far from it in fact. At the age of 24, I think he's perhaps the most vital player in our team, bar perhaps Cech and possibly Mata, and his performances this season have been stellar - as was his performance vs Bayern in the CL final.

Personally, I'm delighted that he's signing this contract, he's well and truly earnt it, but I'm sure a lot of you will disagree. Mikel is always a controversial subject, but as I see it, he is a really good defensive midfielder, and has the potential to be world-class.

Your thoughts, please! @ChelseaRumours!

MIKEL SUSPENDED
Posted on: Thu 06 Dec 2012

The Football Association has today (Thursday) issued a statement regarding a three-match suspension for John Mikel Obi.

The statement reads:

Chelsea's John Obi Mikel has been given a three-match suspension to begin with immediate effect and fined £60,000 following an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing today [Thursday 6 December 2012].

Mikel had requested a personal hearing after admitting an FA charge of using threatening and/or abusive and/or insulting words and/or behaviour.

The breach of FA Rule E3 was in relation to an incident which occurred in the match official's changing room at the end of Chelsea's fixture against Manchester United on 28 October 2012.

The Regulatory Commission's independent chairman Christopher Quinlan QC emphasised that the Independent Regulatory Commission accepted, as did The FA, that at the time he threatened the referee the player genuinely believed that the referee had racially abused him.

But for that factor the suspension would have been significantly longer.

Subsequently The FA investigated the allegation that the referee racially abused the player and found that there was not a case for him to answer.
